Samsung News shuts down on 21 December
Samsung is ending its Samsung News feed on 21 December 2026. Its widget stops updating, and Samsung hasn't named a replacement.

If you read news on your Galaxy phone's left home screen panel or in the Samsung News widget, that feed stops in December.
What to do
Remove the Samsung News widget from your home screen, as Samsung recommends, and pick another news app or Google Discover.
The details
Samsung announced it in a notice inside the app. Personal data collected by the service will be deleted, except records the law requires Samsung to keep. The left-most home screen panel will likely show only Google Discover after that.
