Affinity design app comes to iPad, free for individuals
Canva released Affinity for iPad, with the same vector, photo editing, illustration and page layout tools as the desktop app, built for touch and Apple Pencil. The core tools are free with a free Canva account.
What it means for you
If you draw, edit photos or lay out pages on an iPad, you can use a full design app without paying, as long as you skip the AI tools.
What to do
Download Affinity from the App Store and sign in with a free Canva account. You only need Canva Pro for the AI features.
The details
A new Sketch Studio turns rough drawings into cleaner shapes. It supports Apple Pencil Pro gestures like squeeze, tilt and barrel roll. Everything can be saved in one .af file, and it opens the common design file types. The AI tools, such as Generative Expand, need Canva Pro, from 18 dollars a month.
