Some Galaxy phones report Android Auto and battery trouble on One UI 9
Since Samsung's Android 17-based One UI 9 update started reaching older Galaxy phones, some owners report Android Auto stuttering or not connecting, and others report batteries draining fast. Samsung hasn't confirmed either problem.
What it means for you
If Android Auto or your battery got worse right after the One UI 9 update, you're not the only one, and it's likely the update.
What to do
Restart the phone and check which apps use the most power under battery settings. A big update can drain more for a few days while the phone finishes background work. Install Samsung's next update when it arrives.
The details
9to5Google says the Android Auto reports aren't widespread but show a clear pattern; in one user's test, a Galaxy S24 Ultra on One UI 9 had the problem and a Galaxy S25 Edge on One UI 8.5 didn't. Battery complaints come from Galaxy S24 and S25 owners, including one who says the phone now needs charging three to four times a day; many others see no change. There's no fix yet.
