Apple's HomeView may work as a security camera
Code in HomeView 27.2, found by Reddit user pdfu and reported by The Verge, describes a security camera mode with motion detection, live streaming and recording through HomeKit Secure Video. Apple hasn't said it's coming.
Not confirmed. This comes from a report, a leak or a test version, not from the company itself, so details can still change.
What it means for you
Nothing changes yet. If it ships, your HomeView could double as an indoor camera.
What to do
Nothing to do yet.
The details
According to the code, only home members could see the feed, a light and a sound would show when someone watches or it records, and members would be notified when settings change. Options for what to detect and record would depend on whether you're home, away or asleep.
