Google is rolling out a new design for the Gemini overlay on Android, with glowing dots and a sparkle animation around the "Ask Gemini" box. It comes through the Google app, so it isn't limited to new Pixel phones.

What it means for you

If Gemini looks different when you open it, that's this update; it works the same way.

What to do

Update the Google app in the Play Store. If the new look doesn't show, force-stop the Google app and open it again.

The details

After the animation, the edges of the text box look slightly shaded. The change is easier to see in dark mode than in light mode.
