Android Auto not working for calls: it keeps asking who to call
Some Pixel and Galaxy owners say Android Auto keeps asking "Who do you want to call?" even after they say a contact's name, for calls and texts. Reports go back to early October.
What it means for you
If voice calling by name fails in your car, it's a known problem, not your phone.
What to do
Some users say speaking the phone number works when the name doesn't. You can add your details to Google's Android Auto support thread to help the team.
The details
Affected phones include the Pixel 10 and 10 Pro and the Galaxy S24, S25 Ultra and S26. The right name often shows on screen, but the call isn't placed. Google's Android Auto team is collecting details from users; there's no known cause or fix yet.
