iPhone Duo scam: fake online stores offer the foldable iPhone at a discount
Kaspersky found fake websites selling the sold-out iPhone Duo, including one in Apple's style offering 25% off with a 30-minute countdown; buyers lose their money and card details.
What it means for you
If you see a cheap iPhone Duo with a ticking timer, it's very likely a scam.
What to do
Buy the iPhone Duo only from Apple, your carrier or a known retailer, and never share card details on a site you reached from an ad or message.
The details
Some pages let you choose your language and currency. One aimed at Portuguese speakers asked for the WhatsApp number and email to "check availability", exposing people to more scams.
